MOBILE, AL. A Mobile man accused of setting fire to numerous buildings is now in police custody after being arrested over the weekend.
Mobile Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 700 block of State Street on Sunday.
Firefighters said that the building was destroyed.
Nearby, Mobile police found Justin Jamar Jones, 31, trying to set fire to a vacant home on Old Shell Road, authorities say.
Jones was arrested and charged with second-degree arson, according to jail records.
Mobile police and arson investigators believe that Jones could be responsible for other fires as well.
Mobile Fire-Rescue says Jones is a suspect in another fire that destroyed an unoccupied home in the 300 block of Clay Street.
Witnesses tell authorities that an unidentified male was seen at the fire.
Authorities say Jones is considered the primary suspect in multiple fires recently, and more charges are likely pending further investigation.
