Impaired Driver Also Faces Felony Drug Charges

DAPHNE, Ala. A Daphne police officer on patrol observed a traffic infraction on January 20, 2026, at around 1:30 p.m. and conducted a traffic stop.
Police reported that the driver, later identified as Matthew Seth Cox, 36, was determined to be impaired behind the wheel and after an investigation, officers also found illegal narcotics in his possession.
Cox was arrested and has been charged with:
2 Counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs
Driving Under the Influence of Controlled Substances
Drug Paraphernalia-1st Offense
Cox was arrested and transported to the Baldwin County Detention Center facing both felonies and misdemeanor charges.
He was being held on a $14,000 bond.
