Ice Operations in Birmingham Nets More Than 30 Arrests

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Federal law enforcement including the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and its partners executed federal search warrants at a Birmingham facility Tuesday.
The operation according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, was about serving warrants are a part of an investigation into alleged identity fraud and unlawful employment practices at Scholar Craft Plants.
The DHS stated the operation concerned allegations regarding fraudulent use of identities and employment-related documents.
Authorities, acting on intelligence conducted an investigation and gathered evidence before obtaining warrants.
“As a result of the enforcement action, more than 30 illegal aliens were encountered and taken into custody pending further immigration proceedings,” the DHS said in a statement.
The DHS wrote that more information will be released when appropriate.
