BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A police pursuit earlier in the week reached 118 mph before officers got the vehicle stopped.
On Monday, September 22nd, 2025, an ALEA trooper tried to stop a 2021 Honda Civic on I-10 near the 54-mile marker around 5:30 am after spotting the driver speeding and weaving through traffic recklessly.
However, the driver of the vehicle, now identified as 30-year-old Yoelys E. Perez refused to stop and led officers on a pursuit.
Perez led the Trooper on a chase before he pulled over near the 49-mile marker and was taken into custody.
Law enforcement also found that an 11-year-old child was also in the vehicle at the time of the pursuit.
Perez is charged with attempting to elude and reckless endangerment.
