GULF SHORES, Ala. Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit a 19-year-old on July 4th and then fled the scene.
Luke Lambert’s injuries landed him in the hospital and put a hold on his life because he was supposed to be reporting to boot camp after recently enlisting in the military.
Lambert said that a pickup truck hit him in the Gulf State Park Pavillion parking lot.
Lambert was pinned between two vehicles which broke his pelvis in two spots which has been repaired with screws and metal plates.
At the time of the wreck, he was riding in a truck, and another truck was following them, and when they pulled into Gulf State Park Pavillion parking lot he got out of the truck and the truck following them hit him.
Police and park rangers responded but did not locate the hit and run suspect.
“Right now, I can’t walk, and they’re saying I’m going to have to learn how to walk again,” said Luke.
Luke does not have medical insurance, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for all of the medical bills.
Law enforcement is investigating this incident.
