Good Samaritan Shot and Robbed After Offering a Man a Ride

A robbery went sideways in a hurry in Mobile Monday night and left one person shot.

Police responded to the 1800 block of Mott Drive South just before 9:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired and when they arrived, officers found that a man had been shot.

Police said that during their investigation, officers found that the victim had offered the suspect a ride earlier Monday night.

But once the suspect was in the vehicle, police said that he pulled out a concealed handgun and demanded the victim’s items and the driver complied.

That’s when police said that as the suspect was getting out of the vehicle, he fired shots, hitting the vehicle and the victim.

The driver of the vehicle is currently in stable condition.

Mobile police said this is an active investigation.
