Foley Pursuit Ends in Crash and Injuries

FOLEY Ala On July 12th, 2025, just before midnight, Foley Police officers attempted a traffic stop on a reckless driver on State Hwy 59.
The vehicle refused to stop, and a pursuit was initiated which ended near the intersection of Abby Ln and State Hwy 59.
The suspect’s vehicle exited the roadway and struck a power pole and natural gas valve, causing a gas leak and potential live electrical line hazard to our officers, other first responders, and citizens that were attempting to render aid.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, fire resources, and utilities responders arrived on scene and after securing the power and gas lines, the driver of the suspect vehicle was extricated with minimal injuries.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Joseph Lineberry of Fairhope, AL, was transported to Baldwin Health for medical clearance.
Lineberry was then arrested for DUI and Felony Eluding Law Enforcement Officers. Lineberry was also wanted out of several other agencies for a variety of misdemeanor offenses which included Attempting to Elude LEO, Assault 3rd degree, and Domestic Violence 3rd degree among others.
