Fairhope Man Faces Child Pornography Possession Charges

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Investigation Unit led an investigation into a Fairhope man after suspicious Internet activity was reported to the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff investigators executed a residential search warrant Thursday in Pinnacle Court before arresting 52-year-old Timothy McGriff Jr.
McGriff has been charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, according to law enforcement and the Baldwin County Detention Center records.
McGriff was identified by investigators as a participant in peer-to-peer file sharing activity, with some of that activity occurring at the residence.
During the execution of the search warrant McGriff provided information corroborating the digital portion of the investigation, including the location and ownership of devices, investigators said. They said he also gave admissions regarding the child sexual abuse material.
McGriff Jr. was being held at Baldwin County Jail in lieu of $6,000 in total bond, records show.
Additional charges may be forthcoming, the sheriff’s office said.
