BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A man accused of killing four people while driving drunk on the Baldwin Beach Express on Father’s Day in 2023 is now going to prison for twenty years.
David Arthur Colburn, 62, of Elberta, was sentenced Thursday morning for driving drunk when he crashed into another vehicle, taking the lives of a mother and daughter, Christie and Margaret Lowe and a wife and husband, Tim and Jean Speegle who were from the Birmingham area.
Police said Colburn was driving south when he rear-ended a truck, which sent the vehicle across the median, and into oncoming traffic, killing the passengers.
Colburn was charged with four counts of manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol shortly after the wreck.
