Driver Arrested After Serious I-10 Wreck

A serious crash occurred in the middle of Thursday morning’s commute and one person ended up being arrested.

Multiple emergency agencies responded to Interstate 10 in Daphne at around 8:25 a.m. for a multiple vehicle wreck with serious injuries.

Daphne police and fire departments, ALEA state troopers and ambulances were all dispatched to the area of Exit 35 A. A medical helicopter was also dispatched to the scene.

ALEA said that one lane and the exit were shut down for about an hour or more.

One driver was taken into custody on-scene after failing field sobriety exams.

Troopers have charged Ryan Aaron Waltman with:

Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Drug
Possession of a Controlled Substance
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Waltman is currently in custody at the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
