Death Investigation at Walmart Surprises Shoppers

FOLEY, Ala. An unusual site in the parking lot of Walmart on South McKenzie Street in Foley on Friday, January 16, 2026, at around 1:30 p.m. shocked some shoppers and even caused several to delay their shopping while they milled about.
According to authorities, the Baldwin County 911 Communications Center received a call of a man possibly having a heart attack in a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot.
The Foley Fire Department and an ambulance were dispatched.
Firefighters arrived first, and gained entry into the vehicle and quickly assessed the patient but he was found with no pulse.
Arriving paramedics determined that he had passed away.
At that point, police and other medical personnel responded and followed various procedures before removing the body.
One post on social media said that there was a lot of activity around a pick-up truck and they didn’t know what had happened, but it looked like a crime scene.
Authorities said that there was never any threat to the community.
