Brawl At Daphne Waffle House Under Investigation
DAPHNE, Ala.
January 1, 2025
Daphne police say that they responded to a massive brawl at the Waffle House at Highway 98 and Interstate 10 on Christmas Eve.
Daphne police Lt. Jason Lazzari said the fight happened in the early morning hours on Christmas Eve.
“Obviously tensions were a little bit high,” Lazzari said. “A lot of them had scattered by the time police arrived.”
Police said that the brawl involved two groups who got into a verbal altercation first at an area bar before becoming physical when the groups arrived at the Waffle House.
Multiple videos of the fight were posted to social media in the following hours, and that’s when Lazzari said detectives got involved. Lazzari said investigators are working to identify the people involved in the fight.
“We’re working on a few names that we’ve got that we’re trying to pin down and verify,” Lazzari said.
“Typically, whenever alcohol is involved, things can escalate even amongst friends or acquaintances,” Lazzari said.
At this time no arrests have been made, however, those involved could be charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
Individuals involved could also file complaints of assault against each other that would result in criminal charges including assault.
