ALEA Troopers Charge Three People With Drug Offenses During Traffic Stops

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. ALEA troopers recently conducted traffic enforcement stops on three different vehicles and arrested three people on various drug charges.
Each trooper, patrolling different areas of Baldwin County at different times and days, observed traffic infractions while on patrol and stopped the drivers of each vehicle.
During their interactions with drivers and passengers, troopers found probable cause to conduct searches that resulted in felony arrests.
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, at around 11:40 a.m., a state trooper conducted a traffic stop at County Road 87 and US 90. During the stop, one of the two occupants became non-compliant and refused to cooperate with the trooper.
Robertsdale Police, Baldwin County deputies, and ALEA troopers were dispatched to assist with this situation.
Elijah L Franklin,25, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a felony, and Possession of Marijuana in the Second Degree.
Franklin was booked into the Baldwin County Detention Center on a secured bond.
During two other traffic enforcement interactions, troopers arrested David McDuffie Lofton, 26, and charged him with:
Possession of Dangerous Drugs
Possession of Marijuana 2nd
Drug Paraphernalia-1st Offense
Katrice E Washington, 51, was also charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd during a third arrest by ALEA troopers.
