State law enforcement officers say that an Alabama woman used a drone to drop marijuana into a maximum-security state prison and was caught doing it.
Alabama Department of Corrections investigators say Andrea Latrice Robinson, 36, of Mobile piloted the drone to deliver 490 grams of marijuana – nearly one pound – into Holman Correctional Facility.
The drone crashed and was recovered by the authorities who found the drugs.
Robinson made a second attempt on April 12th when she again used a drone to drop 250 grams of marijuana – more than half a pound, also on the grounds of Holman, a maximum-security facility.
Law enforcement officers were able to take Robinson into custody and charged her two counts of attempting to commit a controlled substance crime, two counts of first-degree possession of marijuana, two counts of illegal drone operation and second-degree promoting prison contraband.
Currently she is being held without bond in the Escambia County Jail.
