Foley Man Charged With Armed Robbery During Firearm Transaction

FOLEY, Ala. The Foley Police Department responded to an armed robbery involving an AR-15 and a gun transaction that went bad.
According to police, Kyle Welch, 26, and another person set up a transaction to purchase a firearm from the victim on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at a location in Foley.
Welch and another person that was him met with the unnamed victim. Both men entered his vehicle armed and Welch stole the victim’s handgun which was in between his seat and then forced the victim out of his vehicle, made him open his trunk, and give them his AR-15 style rifle.
Welch was arrested on Wednesday, May 28, and is charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a controlled substance, according to jail records.
