BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. Police can’t be everywhere at the same time, but sometimes, they are in the right place, at the right time.
On Sunday night, October 18, 2026, at around 11:00 p.m., ALEA received calls from drivers reporting a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Interstate 10 near mile-marker 34.
As the dispatcher was broadcasting the “Be On The Lookout” over the radio, an ALEA trooper had already spotted the vehicle and had pulled it over.
After the trooper conducted an investigation, the driver was found to be intoxicated.
He was arrested and booked into the Baldwin County Detention Center.
His vehicle was also towed.
There’s no doubt that the alert trooper, more than likely averted a serious and possibly even a fatal head-on collision.
But there were no wrecks, no injuries, no property damage, just another drunk driver taken off the road before he hurt or killed himself or someone else.
