Head-On Collision in Barnwell Critically Injures Driver

BARNWELL COMMUNITY, Ala. A Tuesday morning traffic collision has injured several people in the Barnwell Community, and one person was in serious condition.
The head-on collision occurred at approximately 9:15 a.m. near 16193 S Greeno Rd/US 98 South near the B&B Pecan Company.
The Barnwell Volunteer Fire Department, EMS and ALEA troopers responded to the scene.
Firefighters were able to extricate one person from one of the vehicles.
A medical helicopter landed nearby, and a critically injured person was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital, Trauma Unit in Pensacola Florida.
At least one other person was also injured and transported by EMS.
The cause of the crash is unknown but is being investigated by ALEA.
