Spanish Fort Police Pursuit Ends With Driver Going to Jail

SPANISH FORT, Ala. A short-lived police pursuit in Spanish Fort Sunday afternoon started with a traffic infraction and an attempt by a police officer to conduct a traffic stop on the driver.
According to police, the driver failed to pull over for blue lights and sirens and fled onto Eastern Shore where an area ALEA trooper spotted the chase and joined in to assist the local officer at around 2:10 p.m., July 12th, 2026.
Other troopers and Spanish Fort officers were able to box in the driver along State Highway 31 near Jessie Road.
Law enforcement officers were then able to get the driver out of the vehicle and handcuffed.
Officers said that the vehicle with Texas tags and that the driver also had some legal issues including his license not being valid.
A check of the police databases also showed that he was also wanted on an arrest warrant issued out of Lubbock County Texas.
Police booked the driver into the jail on several charges.
