Mobile Fire-Rescue Respond to Church Fire

MOBILE, AL. A fire at a local church Friday night, July 3rd, 2026, sent the Mobile Fire-Rescue to East Street.
A person going by the Yorktown Baptist Church spotted it and called 911.
When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from inside and began to extinguish it.
A fire department spokesperson said that firefighters discovered that an air conditioning unit caught fire causing moderate damage to the structure.
No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
