MOBILE COUNTY, AL. On June 17, 2026, deputies with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired from a vehicle on Eugene Avenue.
After receiving a description of the suspect vehicle, an MCSO deputy located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop by activating emergency lights.
However, the driver failed to stop, resulting in a brief vehicle pursuit.
The driver was identified as Tyler Eric Coleman (DOB: March 7, 1998).
During the pursuit, Coleman exited the vehicle and fled on foot into a residence located in the 400 block of Glendale Place.
Deputies pursued Coleman into the residence, where a struggle ensued before he was taken into custody.
Following the arrest, deputies recovered two pistols and fired cartridge casings from inside the vehicle Coleman was driving.
Coleman was transported to the Mobile County Metro Jail, where he was booked on multiple charges.
Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
Sheriff Paul Burch emphasized the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office commitment to public safety in Prichard.
“We are now handling all 911 calls in the City of Prichard. The citizens of Prichard can expect to see a heavy presence of Mobile County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and know that we are there to protect and serve,” said Sheriff Paul Burch.
The investigation remains ongoing.
