Patient Arrested After Assaulting Hospital Staff

MOBILE, AL. A hospital employee was assaulted and injured, and police have now arrested a suspect in the attack.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at approximately 3:36 a.m., officers responded to 5800 Southland Drive (BayPointe Hospital) in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a female employee with minor injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Upon further investigation, Mobile police said that their officers discovered a male subject being treated at the facility assaulted the hospital staff member.
After an investigation, police charged Wilburn Fowler, 35, with Assault, 2nd Degree and he was transported to Metro Jail.
