Mobile Police Announce Directed Traffic Enforcement Numbers

MOBILE, Ala. Recent traffic accidents have resulted in a high number of fatalities so far this year, leading the Mobile Police Department to actively address this trend.
From February 24, 2026, to March 10, 2026, officers conducted directed enforcement across Mobile to improve roadway safety and to reduce dangerous driving behaviors that could result in serious injury or death.
Of the eight traffic fatalities recorded in our community this year, six have involved speed as a contributing factor. Last year at this time, the Mobile Police Department worked on four traffic fatalities.
Police concentrated in various areas of the city and 1,720 citations were issued during this two-week traffic enforcement operation, while 331 warnings were issued during the same timeframe. The largest offense was speeding.
Thirteen felony arrests were made, along with seven misdemeanor arrests during the two-week traffic enforcement operation.
