Missing Mobile Fisherman Recovered in Mississippi

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at approximately 11 a.m., Troopers assigned to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Marine Patrol Division responded to a call for service concerning a missing boater who was last seen in the area of Dauphin Island in Portersville Bay, within Mobile County.
Travis N. White, 54, of Peachtree City, Ga., was reported missing after he did not return home from a fishing trip.
The 22-ft May Craft vessel that he had been operating was located north of the Dauphin Island Bridge in a marshy area in Heron Bay on Tuesday, March 3.
ALEA Marine Patrol Troopers along with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Officers with the Marine Resources Division of the Alabama Department of Conversation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) immediately launched a search and rescue mission.
On Wednesday, March 4, at approximately 11:47 a.m., Mr. White’s body was located and recovered near Petit Bois Island in Mississippi.
Nothing further is available as ALEA Marine Patrol Troopers continue to investigate.
