Alabama Teen Mauled to Death While Fishing on His Property

DALEVILLE, Ala. A teenager, fishing in a private pond, on private property, died after being mauled to death by a pack of dogs.
Dale County Coroner John Cawley said that 16-year-old Gabriel Damien Barron was fishing in his private pond on his Daleville-area property when dogs described as pit bull mixes attacked Barron and bit him repeatedly as they mauled the teen.
Authorities were notified and emergency responders were called to the scene.
Authorities took the dogs into custody.
Coroner John Cawley said Barron’s body was sent to a state lab for forensic testing.
Daleville police and the Dale County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to investigate.
The owners of the dogs involved could face criminal charges.
