Fire Destroys Home in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. A fire in a fireplace may have started a fire that heavily damaged a home Saturday night.
Mobile Fire-Rescue responded to a 911 call of a fire at a home on St. Stephens Road just before 8 p.m.
As firefighters pulled up to the house, they immediately could see smoke and flames coming from the structure.
Crews were called to the home on St. Stephens Road, just a couple of miles north of Spring Hill Avenue, just before 8 p.m. Saturday.
MFR said that the home suffered heavy damage but the occupants inside the home were able to get out safely.
Right now, the cause of the fire is being investigated likely started in the fireplace.
There was no injuries reported.
