Prodisee Pantry Feeds Record Number of Baldwin County Families

SPANISH FORT, Ala.
Local families once again are thankful for the generosity of a local non-profit organization in Spanish Fort.
The Prodisee Pantry is there year-round to help families in need but during this time of the year, they always seem to go above and beyond to help as many people as they can.
And this year is no different as they just wrapped up its final Thanksgiving meal distribution helping Baldwin County families prepare for the holiday with carts full of food. Each cart contained about $250 worth of groceries—enough to make a complete Thanksgiving meal.
Prodisee Pantry spokesperson said that the need is always great and this year, was a record-breaking number year for them.
“Our numbers are way up from earlier this year. We’re running about a 19% increase from this summer,” said Executive Director, Deann Servos. “We always anticipate an increase over the holidays.”
Families receiving food were first interviewed by volunteers to assess their needs and connect them with any additional resources. They were then given a ticket to receive their cart.
“It was pretty easy – in and out,” shared one of the recipients, Jeff Cross. “They loaded me up and I didn’t expect that, but they were very helpful.”
Prodisee Pantry will begin packing boxes of food to make Christmas meals for Baldwin County families in need this Saturday. If you would like to sign up to volunteer, call the pantry at 251-626-1720.
