1 Dead-Several Shot in Conecuh County

EVERGREEN, Ala.

A mass shooting that left one person dead and multiple others wounded is under investigation in Conecuh County.

According to the Conecuh County Coroner’s Office an early Sunday morning shooting happened on West Front Street in Evergreen at around 12:30 a.m.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, the local fire department and several ambulances responded to the scene.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and he was identified as 19-year-old Melvontaie Loveless, of Greenville.

Several others were shot and transported to an area hospital.

Authorities said no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
