UPDATE: ALEA Investigating Mobile County School Bus Crash

 

 

 

 

 

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala.

The county sheriff’s department is reporting that seven people were injured in a school bus accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon on Mason Ferry Road.

Among the injured is the school bus driver has been identified by authorities as Angela Lane Weaver, 47, of Lucedale, Miss., received some injuries and was transported to Springhill Hospital in Mobile for treatment.

Police say that the single-vehicle crash involving the school bus occurred at approximately 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, February 12th, 2025, when the 2020 Integrated Coach Bus with 14 occupants left the roadway and partially overturned.

Multiple ambulances, fire apparatus and law enforcement from several agencies responded to the wreck.

According to a parent, 14 students from the Semmes Middle School & Mary G. Montgomery High School on board the bus at the time of the accident.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division will continue to investigate.
