Pedestrian Killed in Overnight Wreck

MOBILE, AL A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, has claimed the life of a McIntosh man.
The pedestrian, Otis Reed Jr., 39, was fatally injured after being struck by the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Robert W. Peek, 65, of Saraland.
Law enforcement, fire personnel, and EMS responded to the scene.
However, Reed was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 45 near the 17-mile marker, approximately 10 miles north of Prichard, in Mobile County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
