Mobile Firefighter Killed in Motorcycle Wreck

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department (MFRD) has announced the untimely death of one of their firefighters who was killed in an off-duty motorcycle wreck near Wilmer.

The MFRD is deeply saddened to announce the death of Fire Service Driver Marcine Crawford Jr., who served at Seelhorst Station as a Driver for Engine 7 on B Shift.
He tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 13, 2025, near Wilmer, Alabama

Driver Crawford was a valued member of our department since he joined in July 2015. His commitment and leadership earned him a promotion to Driver in August 2022. Throughout his career with MFRD, he distinguished himself with his friendly manner and his strong work ethic, reflecting his unwavering dedication to service. In addition, he contributed as a hazardous materials (hazmat) technician and a rescue technician.

Driver Crawford’s passion for his work, his camaraderie, and his spirit will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time. Further information regarding memorial services will be shared as it becomes available.

“Marcine loved the fire service and had a heart to serve.” Fire Chief Johnny Morris Jr. said. “He enjoyed mentorship and teamwork and the satisfaction of seeing things through.”

Driver Crawford is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and many other family members.
