Dauphin Island Home Destroyed in Fire

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. A home was completely engulfed in fire during the 4th of July, and some people are claiming that it was started by fireworks.
Neighbors nearby said that there were a lot of fireworks going off around the area, including some loud explosions just before they noticed the fire.
The use and possession of fireworks is illegal on Dauphin Island, according to the mayor.
Everyone inside the home, including three dogs, was able to get out safely, according to neighbors, but the house received extensive damage.
Several area fire departments responded to the scene along with police and EMS.
The fire remains under investigation, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
