DAPHNE, Ala. Police were called to the Walmart store on Highway 98 Sunday night at around 9:15 p.m. after a man fired a gun at the store after being asked to leave his gun in the car.

Daphne Police Department said that the man had a gun in his waistband that was visible, and a store employee asked him to either conceal the firearm or take it to his vehicle and he argued with the store employee.

According to police, the man and a woman who was with him left the store, and when they got outside, police say the man exchanged words with another store employee in the parking lot.

“They got in a vehicle and began to exit the parking lot,” Daphne Police Chief Brian Gulsby said. “He was in the passenger side, leaned all the way out the open window and fired a round towards the building.”

Investigators said they found evidence of a bullet hole outside of the building. No one was injured, but police said this is a situation that could’ve escalated quickly.

Police said that no one was injured but that investigation is still ongoing as police are looking into several leads and surveillance video, and the man could be charged with a felony.
