Daphne Rollover Crash Closes Down Highway 98

DAPHNE Ala.
August 2nd 2024

A mid-afternoon crash on US 98 just north of the US Sports Academy shut down traffic to both northbound lanes as vehicles were rerouted back southbound on the opposite side of the road.

Several vehicles, including one that rolled over into a ditch on the side of the road, were involved in an accident and there were reports of injuries.

The Daphne Fire Department, numerous Daphne police vehicles, Medstar, and an EMS supervisor all responded to the emergency.

Traffic was backed up as people were trying to find crossovers and side streets to escape the long line of cars in front and behind them.

Troopers Make Drug Arrest on Baldwin Beach Express

BALDWIN COUNTY Ala

An ALEA trooper conducting traffic enforcement along the Baldwin Beach Express
Thursday afternoon when he stopped a vehicle for a moving violation.

During the trooper’s interaction with the driver, the trooper noticed some suspicious activity and
with the assistance of a second trooper, the vehicle was searched.

During the search, a large amount of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia was found.

The driver was also investigated for being under the influence of narcotics or alcohol.

Troopers arrested the female and she was transported to jail.

Her name was not released at that time.

This stretch of roadway has seen numerous drug arrests so far this year.
