Baldwin County Deputies Charge Motorcyclist With Felony Eluding

DAPHNE AL What started as a traffic infraction ended with a motorcycle operator being charged with a felony.
On Sunday, July 13, 2025, a Baldwin County deputy sheriff attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle on Highway 98 near Main Street in Daphne for not properly displaying a license plate and that’s when deputies said that the driver began fleeing and refusing to stop for blue lights and sirens.
Baldwin County deputies said that the chase from Daphne to Fairhope involving the motorcycle exceeded speeds of 100 mph before the suspect lost control.
BCSO said the driver of the motorcycle lost control on Highway 98 near Daphne Avenue and deputies were able to take him into custody.
Aiden Cox, 18, was arrested and booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
Cox is charged with felony attempting to elude and was issued a reckless driving citation.
