MOBILE, AL. A Semmes man on trial for murder had claimed self-defense during his trial but on Thursday, a jury found him guilty despite his claim.
Jeffery Allan Holley, 31, was arrested after shooting and killing Alan “Bama” Williams at the home he was staying at on Kushla Oaks Drive in Eight Mile in February 2023.
Prosecutors argued that Holley got into an argument with Alan “Bama” Williams at the home he was staying at on Kushla Oaks Drive in Eight Mile in February 2023.
Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood said the dispute was over a vehicle that had been scrapped and that Holley took Williams’ gun and shot him.
“The evidence showed that this was a robbery,” Blackwood said. “The victim was on the ground with his hands up when the defendant shot him in the top of the head.”
Something that the defendant’s attorney argued against saying that Williams was the aggressor and the men fought over the gun and it went off.
Mobile County Circuit Judge Jill Phillips set sentencing for March 23. Blackwood said his office intends to seek life.
