N.M. Man Arrested in Semmes for Trafficking Methamphetamine

SEMMES, Ala. A Semmes police officer conducted a traffic stop on a driver after he observed a traffic violation.
While interacting with 48-year-old Yoel Borrell, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, he observed some other illegal activity.
K-9 Zero was deployed around the vehicle while parked on Alabama 158 and the specially trained drug dog alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle.
Police recovered 4.5 pounds of meth inside Borrell’s vehicle, and he was taken into custody and faces a felony charge of TRAFFICKING-METHAMPHETAMINE.
He currently is being held without a bond.
