Mobile Police Investigating Stabbing Homicide

JUST IN: Mobile police said that the victim has been identified as Mark Prince, 67 and that he was killed by his son, Samuel Prince, 19.
The son has been arrested.

MOBILE, AL. Police have detained a suspect in a stabbing death after officers responded to call about a person lying in a yard bleeding.

When officers arrived at the home of Vector Road at around 2 p.m., on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, they found an adult male deceased from multiple stab wounds.
Mobile Fire-Rescue was also dispatched.

“Once officers arrived, they were able to detain the person of interest for the purpose of the investigation, but that does not necessarily mean that person will be charged with the crime,” said Roderick Miles, PIO for MPD.

When homicide detectives and crime scene investigators arrived, they began taking photographs and lifting fingerprints from a red truck.

Mobile police are investigating the death as a domestic homicide.

Mobile police said that this is an active investigation and they have not released the victim’s name.
