Mobile Fire-Rescue Battle House Fire During Windy and Cold Conditions

MOBILE, Ala. Mobile Fire-Rescue has responded to an unusual number of house fires in recent days, but they say that structure fires aren’t unusual this time of year because many start as a result of people trying to keep warm using various methods of heat sources.
The most recent fire occurred Friday evening, January 30, 2026, when they were dispatched to a house fire on Oakchase Court, near Hillcrest Road and Cottage Hill.
According to authorities, the two-story home was undergoing renovations and currently was not occupied.
Firefighters faced cold temperatures and windy conditions but no injuries were reported.
Neither the cause of the fire, nor the amount of damage done was immediately available.
