STOCKTON, Ala. In a rural part of Baldwin County, a different type of crop will soon be covering almost 5000 acres.
A land deal has been completed in Stockton that will split this sprawling timberland tract into two very large solar panel fields that will help to generate electricity for the Meta Company.
The electricity from this farm will be used for their data campus in the Montgomery area.
According to public records, the tech enterprise behind Facebook and WhatsApp and other online platforms continues to increase their investment at its Montgomery data centers to $2.44 billion, an energy burden that will be dependent on these two new massive solar projects in the Stockton community.
