MOBILE, Ala. A Daphne man is heading to federal prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a teenage girl and making video recordings of his acts.
Forrest Sanford, 25, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to transporting a minor for sex.
Sanford admitted that he sexually abused a 14-year-old girl in Mississippi over the course of a seven-month relationship in 2021. He admitted that he would drive there to sexually abuse her after sneaking into her bedroom window. He also would have sex with the girl in the parking lot of a sporting goods store in D’Iberville and the parking lot of a restaurant, the plea agreement states.
He also admitted to bringing the girl to his parents’ home in Alabama where he also sexually assaulted the girl.
Court records show that the investigation began with a cyber tip in December 2023.
Sanford boasted of obtaining sexual images of a 16-year-old through Snapchat, according to his written plea agreement. He also admitted to making videos of his sexual encounters.
Law enforcement found multiple explicit images of the girl on Sanford’s electronic devices.
He faces 10 years to life in prison. Prosecutors agreed to recommend a prison term at the midrange of advisory sentencing guidelines, which a judge will determine later.
Sanford’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 28, 2026.
