Mobile Police Conducting Homicide Investigation

UPDATE

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, A short time later, the victim, now identified as Cedric Redd, 23, died at the hospital from a gunshot injury.

The subject, Dequan Thomas, 24, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail.

Police in Mobile were called to a home on Colgin Street Wednesday evening at around 6:30 p.m. after there was a report of a shooting there.

When officers arrived, they found a person shot in the head. The victim died from his injuries police said.

Police do not have a suspect in custody.

The Mobile Police Homicide Unit has taken over the case and this is an active investigation.
