Elderly Woman Dies in Conecuh County Crash

CONECUH COUNTY, Ala. A single-vehicle crash on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026, at approximately 5:15 p.m. has claimed the life of a Castleberry woman.
Law enforcement, area fire personnel and EMS responded to the traffic collision on Conecuh County 90 near Conecuh County 23, approximately two miles south of Bellville.
ALEA reported that Myrtis M. Mitchell, 74, was fatally injured when the 2024 Buick Encore she was driving left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned. Mitchell was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other vehicle or person was involved in the crash.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
