LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL. An Alabama woman has been arrested by law enforcement for posting an online threat against President Trump.
According to federal law enforcement, the Alabama woman faces federal charges after investigators said she posted a threat against President Donald Trump on Facebook ahead of his planned trip to the Alabama-Georgia college football game.
The charges against Megan Lorraine Utz, of Florence, were filed on October 8, 2026 in federal court in Alabama and federal agents arrested her shortly thereafter.
Threatening the life of the U.S. President could land a person in federal prison for ten years or more.
Local and federal law enforcement became aware of the threat and began investigating a social media account under the name “Kase Utz”.
In the post, it stated that “He’s not allowed in my stadium! I’ll put a bullet through him if he dares.”
Investigators said the account was linked to Utz by matching the profile photo to her driver’s license photo, including a distinctive neck tattoo. Records from the social media company also matched her birthday and pointed to Florence.
On October 6th, FBI and Secret Service agents with area police went to the Salvation Army in Florence, where Utz was last known to be staying. Workers said she left in a light-blue pickup and might be at a nearby house.
Agents said they found the truck on Midway Street. Utz briefly opened the front door, then shut and locked it, and later ran on foot. Officers caught her about two blocks away.
Police said that UTZ already had an outstanding local warrant on other charges.
Investigators said they read Utz her rights and she agreed to talk. She told them she suffered 18 concussions and had taken several prescription medications.
When asked about the post, Utz said she wanted her phone checked for hacking and blamed malware for the message. Utz asked officers, “How am I going to shoot him?”
Officers sent the phone to an FBI forensics lab for examination.
Utz remains in custody and will be arraigned in Birmingham on November 4, 2026.
