Multiple Agencies Respond to Aid Boater in Distress

FORT MORGAN, Ala. On Saturday afternoon, October 2nd, 2026, at approximately 2:48 p.m., the Baldwin County 911 Communications Center received an emergency distress call from a vessel captain stating that his vessel was dead in the water off Fort Morgan and swells were breaking against the boat.
911 dispatchers immediately sent the Fort Morgan Fire Department to aid the boater in distress along with the Alabama Marine Police, US Coast Guard and other rescuers to the area.
Rescuers reached the vessel and found that no one was injured.
Marine Police assisted the vessel and towed the boat into a marina in Fort Morgan at around 4 p.m.
