ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Ala. A joint investigation has led to the arrest of an area politician and a school board president on very serious charges.
Though minimal information has been released by law enforcement, we have confirmed that Alabama State Representative Brett Easterbrook and Satsuma City School Board President Kory Wesley were arrested and booked into the Escambia County, Alabama, jail on Friday, October 2, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m., and both are accused of human trafficking and other charges.
The investigation led law enforcement to charge Easterbrook with first-degree human trafficking and prostitution.
Wesley is charged with first-degree human trafficking and attempting to elude police.
An insider has told us that this is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are possible.
When police tried to stop Kory Wesley, he tried to flee from police but was quickly stopped before he could get away.
The Satsuma City Schools system posted on its Facebook page that it is aware of the arrest of a Satsuma City Schools Board of Education member.
“We are mindful of how this affects families, employees, students, and members of our community who are not involved in the allegations,” the post said. “The school system will respect the legal process and will not comment on the matter at this time.”
This story is developing and we are closely following developing details.
