Tense Moments During Silverhill Swatting Call

SILVERHILL, Ala. The 911 call sounded real. A person telling dispatchers that he was upset and that he had just shot his sister in the head.
He also told dispatchers that he was still holding the gun.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were dispatched to the home on 7th Street at around 5:00 p.m., while fire personnel and EMS were staged far away from the scene.
A medical helicopter was also dispatched to the area to standby.
It was a tense call, a tense response and no one knew what they would find once they entered the home.
Thankfully, it turned out to be just another “swatting” call. It wasn’t real.
Mobile police had received a similar call just a few days before and it too turned out to be a false call.
During the past years, at least eight swatting calls have been made to several cities in our area.
The Silverhill police chief told us that an investigation is underway and he believes that an arrest will be made soon.
