Fatal Hit and Run Driver Captured After 2 Years

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. A driver involved in a fatal hit and run collision almost two years ago has now been captured.

Authorities have been looking for Steven Patshy, 44 of Bay Minette, after a grand jury indictment on January 29, 2025, and police caught up with him on Friday in Florida.

Patshy has been charged with vehicular homicide after allegedly fleeing the scene of an accident in south Alabama two years ago.

Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office took custody of Patshy on Sunday and lodged him into the Baldwin County Detention Center.

According to court records, he allegedly caused the death of De’Andre Ervin in March 2024 while driving recklessly, then fled the scene.

Patshy will be scheduled for an arraignment in the upcoming days.
