Mobile Police Engage in Two Vehicle Pursuits Within 45 Minutes of Each Other

MOBILE, Ala. Within an hour of each other, Mobile police officers were involved in two vehicle pursuits.
One ended in a collision and injury to the driver while the other driver went straight to jail, do not pass go.
A Mobile police spokesperson stated that both of the pursuits began as traffic stops and both drivers chose to flee rather than just pull over for the officers.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at approximately 10:42 p.m., officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of Cottage Hill Road and Azalea Road, but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop. The driver led officers on a pursuit that ended in the 3300 block of Cottage Hill Road when he lost control of the vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and faces a number of charges.
Later Tuesday night at approximately 11:29 p.m., officers attempted to initiate another traffic stop in the area of Cottage Hill Road and W. Ashford Drive, but that driver also refused to stop. The driver led officers on a pursuit that ended on Azalea Road near Village Green Drive E. where the driver pulled over.
Police arrested Neko Morris, 18, and he was transported to Metro Jail.
Morris is facing a felony charge of Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement.
