Daphne Municipal Court $9 Million Renovations Adds Security and Space

DAPHNE, Ala. For almost eight months, the Daphne municipal court has been held in various places including at city hall during an extended renovation but finally, that has come to an end.
Daphne Mayor Robin LeJune and other city leaders officially cut the ribbon on Monday, September 15th which makes a lot of people happy, including Municipal Court Judge Warren Harbison who said that we’ve really been needing more room.
The new courtroom is two and a half times larger than the previous one and includes a more secure path from the city jail to holding cells, sound-dampening walls, and technology to make the wheels of justice more efficient.
And outside, there’s more parking within feet from the courthouse doors.
Judge Harbison stated that “This is going to be a tremendous asset for the citizens of Daphne.”
For the last year and a half, court has been held just about anywhere in the city but at the Justice Center, but now that construction is finished, court is in session.
Judge Harbinson noted that court has been held at city hall, the civic center, here, there, everywhere, and he was glad to be back home on campus and getting court done.
The courtroom, along with the entire Justice Center enhancements, was a $9 million investment answering the demands of growth, according to Mayor LeJune.
