Troopers Investigating Mobile County Traffic Fatality

MOBILE COUNTY, AL. A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:55 a.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026, has claimed the life of a Grand Bay man.

The wreck occurred on Newman Road near Chelle Way, approximately six miles west of Mobile, in Mobile County.

Ned P. Vicknair, 68, was critically injured when the 2004 Lincoln Town Car he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.
Vicknair was transported to the University Medical Center in Mobile for medical treatment.
On Tuesday, September.15, Vicknair succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
